Sold and serviced are two different statuses
Eaton publishes two separate things. The product catalogue says whether a model is still sold: the 93E, for example, has reached end of life, with the 9355 and 93PM as Eaton’s replacement offerings 3. The end-of-service-life table says how long Eaton supports a model, in phases that run from Active, with all parts and labour 2, to Mature, where parts may be limited and replacement is recommended 4.
So a discontinued 9390 can still be in Active service, and a model that is still sold can already carry a best-efforts date. Read both before you decide between repair and replacement.
What we check on an Eaton unit
- The event and alarm log, read from the front panel or the network card before anything is reset
- Each battery block: float voltage, temperature and internal resistance against the last visit 5
- Fans and DC capacitors against Eaton’s interval, with fans changed together with the capacitors 6
- Energy Saver System settings where the model offers it, such as the 93PM 7
- The transfer to bypass and back, with the method agreed in advance for a live load

Common questions
Who services Eaton UPS systems in Toronto?
Symetrix Canada maintains and repairs Eaton and Powerware UPS systems across Toronto and the GTA, from single 9355 cabinets to multi-module 9395 systems, with a reply and a quote within 4 business hours.
How long does an Eaton UPS last?
Longer than its batteries. Eaton gives lead-acid UPS batteries 3 to 5 years 17 and recommends replacing power-train capacitors around 7 years of operation 1. The frame is supported until its best-efforts date; for the 9355 that date is 2033 9.
How do I reset an Eaton UPS?
Use the reset procedure in your model's user guide, and save the event log first: a reset clears the alarm, not its cause. If the alarm comes back or the UPS stays on bypass, call 1 (438) 800-0382.
Is the Eaton 9390 still supported?
It is no longer sold, and Eaton names the 93PM as comparable 13. Eaton's service table keeps the 9390 in Active service until best efforts begin in 2027 at 208 V and 2028 at 480 V 14.
Do you service Powerware units?
Yes. Eaton's service table still files the 9355 under its Powerware line 9, and we service the earlier Powerware three-phase models alongside the current Eaton ones.
