How the work is done

  • The manufacturer’s procedure for the model. Where a manufacturer requires its own technician, as some warranties do, the quote says so up front.
  • Readings, not impressions. Every battery block is measured against its baseline, so the report shows how far each one has drifted [1].
  • A written report after every visit. Readings next to the last visit, faults found, work done, parts due now and parts to budget, each with a price.
  • Licensed electrical work. In Ontario, electrical connections are made by a licensed electrical contractor [2], with an ESA notification where required [3].
  • Methods agreed before the visit. Any transfer to bypass on a live load follows a written method agreed with the site.

The data-centre directory

The Canadian data-centre directory lists 100 facilities, campuses and projects, each tied to a government or operator source, with a dated change log and open data exports. The methodology and sources pages explain how records are added; corrections go through the contact page.
