Plan a Canadian data-centre project

Start with the service the organization must operate, then collect dated evidence for power, cooling, connectivity, construction, security and recovery. The directory can identify facilities and regional context. It cannot approve a site or confirm a project-specific service.

Working method

Use constraints before scores

Write the deployment date, load stages, application dependencies, recovery objectives, user locations and legal requirements before comparing facilities. Mark a condition as a gate when failure would make the project unusable. Utility timing, supported equipment conditions, carrier routes and authority approvals often belong in that group.

Keep current fact, supplier commitment, planning assumption and open question separate. Name the source and review date for each critical answer. When a public source describes a province, metro or operator, use it to frame the next question. Do not convert it into a promise for a particular building or customer.

What the public record can and cannot do

Directory records find candidates

Each facility record names the operator, locality, operating state, public source and review date. Use those facts to build a research list. Confirm available space, power, service options, security and commercial terms directly with the responsible provider.

Regional guides explain the process

Province and metro guides describe published utility, policy and infrastructure context. They do not prove local capacity, a carrier route or a project schedule. Ask for the application, study and service evidence for the selected location.

Project records stay controlled

Store utility studies, route drawings, security details, switching procedures, contracts and access information in the organization's controlled systems. Do not put confidential facility information, credentials or customer data into public notes.
